Charoite
Origin-: Discovered in Siberia, Russia in 1947, but only became known internationally in the Murun mountains in Yakutia, its name derived from the Chary River.
Color-: Bright lavender, violet and lilac to dark purple with swirling, fibrous appearance and are sometimes chatoyant.
Luster-: Vitreous to pearly.
Hardness-: 5-6 on the Mohs scale with triclinic crystal structure.
Transparency-: Translucent.
Zodiac Sign-: Scorpio, Pisces, Sagittarius.
Other Names-: Royale lavender, Charit, Lilac, Tokkoite.
Occurrence-: Murunskii Massif, Chara and Tokko rivers, Aldan shield, Sakha Republic, Yakutia, Eastern Siberia region, Russia.
